Today was my last day at my internship, and much to my surprise my boss, supervisor, and co-workers sent me off with a card with their messages written inside, a $25 gift card, hugs and hand-clapping, thanks, and well-wishes. I'd expected to just say a quick goodbye and walk out the door like I always did at the end of my "shift", so this was totally unexpected.
To be honest I feel bad that I didn't make more of an effort to develop camaraderie with the people in my office. They're such casual and good-humored people. But I was always focused on coming in, sitting down, and doing my work, and unfortunately I wasn't even able to finish the project I was given to work on all this time. Still, it was nice to hear that y'all liked having me around and that y'all appreciated my contributions. I appreciate your kindness.
Thanks for everything Debbie, Dawn, Lydia and Josh! Shoutout to the Arts Council of Greater Lansing! Some mornings were more difficult for me than others, but I learned a lot and I really enjoyed the work I was doing. I will keep in touch!
